Andrew Hoy earned a Bachelor of Arts in both Music and History from Vassar College, where he graduated with honors.  He began studying violin privately at the age of four, and his teachers include Robert dePasquale, retired Associate Principal Second of the Philadelphia Orchestra, and international soloist Betty-Jean Hagen.  Andrew has taught private violin and viola lessons for the past nine years.  He is an active violinist in the community and plays for various chamber ensembles, pit orchestras, and symphony orchestras, with whom he has performed in concert halls throughout the United States, Eastern Europe and Brazil.  Currently, Andrew also serves as a violin and viola instructor at St. Helena’s School in Blue Bell, and is a violinist in the Southeastern Pennsylvania Symphony Orchestra.
